SPANTIK EXPEDITION 7024m) 2011

Spantik (7024m) :
 

To get to the base camp of Spantik (7024m), climbers must take the jeep from Skardu to Arandu and then follow the Chogolungma Glacier. The mountain has no technical difficulties, but after snowfall it is rather prone to avalanches. Besides, there are crevasses which should not be underestimated.
In 2006 Shipton Treks & Expeditions organized an expedition whose aim it was to take down a young German woman who had... died of oedema at 5600m. The body was carried down and transported to Germany. We are glad that we were able to be of great service to the relatives of the climber. 

DAY BY DAY PROGRAMS :

Day 01st: Arrive at Islamabad afternoon welfare meeting with Alpine Club.
Day 02nd: Fly to Skardu or drive to Chilas on Karakorum highway 11-12hrs.
Day 03rd: Rest day in Skardu or drive from Chilas to Skardu 8-9hrs 290km.
Day 04th: Drive to Arandu.
Day 05th: Trek to Tsas Chumic.
Day 06th: Trek to Bolocho.
Day 07th: Trek to Spantik Base Camp.

Day 08-25, 20 days for climbing

Day 26th: Trek down to Bolocho.
Day 27th: Trek down to Tsas Chumic
Day 28th: Trek down to Arandu.
Day 29th: Drive to Skardu 6-7hrs.
Day 30th: Fly to Islamabad or drive to Chilas 8-9hrs.
Day 31st: Farewell meeting with alpine club of or drive from Chilas to Islamabad.
Day 32nd: Transfer to Islamabad airport for international flight.
